I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long.
Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song.
So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed.
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read:
"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight,
in the dunes of the cape.
I'm the lady you've looked for, write to me,
and escape."
I didn't think about my lady,
I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I'm nobody's poet,
I thought it wasn't half-bad.
"Yes, I like Pina Coladas,
and getting caught in the rain.
I'm not much into health food,
I am into champagne.
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon,
and cut through all this red tape.
At a bar called O'Malley's,
where we'll plan our escape."
So I waited with high hopes,
then she walked in the place.
I knew her smile in an instant,
I knew the curve of her face.
It was my own lovely lady,
and she said,
"Oh, it's you."
And we laughed for a moment,
and I said,
"I never knew"..
"That you liked Pina Coladas,
and getting caught in the rain.
And the feel of the ocean,
and the taste of champagne.
If you like making love at midnight,
in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for,
come with me, and escape."
i came across this song while blog-hopping. its sweet and real.
been watching tons of movies, looking for jobs (yes i don give up), watching tv and working out whenever i can (though i don see results:(
i am feeling rather lost these days, so am trying to hold on to something thats real but nothing really reaches my grasp. or rather i grasp nothing. i donno but whichever way it is, it is not good.
its hard to live with criticism. and judgments made.
take away the clouds and leave me the sun.
i feel like shopping but i don seem to be finding the things i am searching for. i am rather choosy. a saleswoman's nightmare really. though when i do find something i like, i am her gift from heaven. hah:)
trying to fill up my days till skl starts. there always seems to be something to do so am never bored.
am hating responsibilities and commitments. i could live without those for the rest of my life really. or at least grant me a week without them.
doing some soul searching. my identity is lost somewhere between you and me.
i realise that no matter how much i try to forget, the past always haunts. it lives in my shadows, creeping up on me everytime i try to step into light. i need to let go and forgive and forget to move on. but i cant. and i have no idea how to. forgive me for that.
time alone is treasured. i love sitting on my bed and catching up on some reading, with lovely songs playing in the background, and the soft fur of sean against my leg. i don understand why people don like to admit that they love being alone, but i do.
